California: The Vineyards

  • Hyde

    CARNEROS - Napa

Hyde Vineyards was founded in 1979 by Larry Hyde. Located in the heart of Carneros , Hyde Vineyards sits in the coolest region of Napa Valley influenced by the cooling effect of the Petaluma Gap. Morning fog and cool breezes in the afternoons allow for warm days and cool nights resulting in a long growing season.

  • Bacigalupi

    RUSSIAN RIVER - Sonoma

The Bacigalupi`s gained recognition as growers during the 1976 Paris tasting when the 1973 Napa Valley Chardonnay from Chateau Montelena with Bacigalupi fruit triumphed over many acclaimed french wines to be declared the undisputed winner. This event was to be the turning point in Americas global wine image. That same block of Chardonnay used to produce this worldly renowned wine is still in existence today and carefully tended by the family.

Nid Tissé Bacigalupi Chardonnay also comes from the Goddard Ranch and block planted just next to the Paris Tasting Block. The clone is Wente and soils are red volcanic clay.
